So I Quit my Job
You are crazy. What are you thinking? Now what are you going to do? These are all questions that I have been answering for the last few weeks since I told my principal that I was not planning on coming back and teaching in the fall.
Now you guys, I have a dream job. I work part time as an ELD (English Language Development) teacher at a very progressive charter school in Southern Oregon. Our motto is providing opportunities to the underserved and underprivileged in our valley. The majority of students at our school are low income latino kids. Even though our community is fairly small we deal with the same problems as inner city schools. There is a Lot of poverty, incarcerated family members, drugs, violence and students with trauma. It has been my heart to serve these at risk kids for as long as I can remember, so it is a big deal that I am walking away.

I would not be leaving this job if it wasn’t for a good reason. As my kids are getting older I realize time is quickly passing and we need to carpe every diem!!!! The hope and dream for our family in the coming years is to travel as much as our wallets will allow and spend as much quality time together as possible. We hope you will join us on this journey!
“Don’t miss out on the chance to live the life of incredible possibility in front of you.” ~Rachel Hollis
